AudiGermany, the manufacturer, says change it after 140k miles with no time limit, and all their distributors apart from Audi Uk seem to go along with this. Audi UK have never been able to justify the 5year change interval, and under pressure agreed that a change after 5 years was only required if an inspection showed it to be necessary.

Hi I have a 2008 Mondeo Titanium X with the 2.0 145 duratec, it's done 46,000 miles with a full Ford service history.. I know it has a timing chain but I cannot find any information in owners manual on when it's recommended to be changed or inspected, I know it is quite low mileage but it is just over 7 years old now.

Theapp I'm making shows: Jetta 2.0D TDI CR 2008-11. Engine code: CBDA, CBDB, CEGA. Replacement Intervals: : Timing belt - Renew: Every 80,000 miles or 48 months. Problemis even if I get 6k back I won't be able to get another 3.0 TDI with my high spec. My friend who is a mechanic has offered to replace the timing chain, guides & tensioners but I'm not sure what to offer him, normal price is between £1500-2000 which i could never afford, would have to scrap it!
